Biography

I am a photographer based in Mackinaw City, MI. I spent the first five years of my life in the Detroit area before moving to Northern Michigan in 2004. My passion for photography began in 2009 when, at just 11 years old, I got my first Kodak point-and-shoot camera. I took full advantage of it on family trips across the country, capturing memories in Pittsburgh (2009), New York City (2010), Philadelphia, the Atlantic Ocean, and Washington, D.C. (2012), and Arizona (2014). From there, my love for photography only grew!
After my Kodak camera gave out, I upgraded to a Lumix and then a Canon point-and-shoot, using them for a few years before purchasing a Nikon Coolpix in 2015. That camera became my go-to for capturing sporting events, my first senior session, and yearbook pictures during my senior year of high school. Though still a point-and-shoot, it had better megapixels and improved image quality, allowing me to refine my skills.
By the summer of 2017, I realized that if I wanted to continue growing as a photographer, I needed better equipment. That’s when I invested in a Nikon D90. Since then, I’ve acquired numerous lenses and attachments, which I always keep in my camera bag.
In 2016, I attended college for a year, where I took a Photoshop class and an online Digital Photography course—both of which helped me tremendously. After finishing that year of school in 2017, I continued expanding my knowledge through self-teaching. In 2018, I subscribed to Adobe’s software and began using Lightroom and Photoshop, which turned out to be one of my best investments. Looking back at my early photos compared to now, the improvement is drastic. Learning to manipulate colors, enhance vibrancy, sharpen images, and adjust lighting has been invaluable, and I continue to refine my editing skills daily.
I specialize in senior portraits, family sessions, sports photography, and a handful of weddings. Since the 2015-16 school year, I have photographed around 20 seniors, numerous family sessions, and several weddings. I love seeing the reactions of my clients when they receive their photos, and capturing candid moments is always a highlight of my work. However, over time, I’ve steered away from weddings and discovered that my true passion lies in landscape photography.
In the past few years, I’ve developed both a passion for and an understanding of long-exposure photography, particularly night sky shots. Now, capturing the northern lights is one of my favorite things to do—when they appear, I feel like a kid on Christmas morning!
When my camera isn't attached to my face or hanging from my neck, I’m always up for an adventure—which usually leads to more photography. I love being outdoors year-round and feel incredibly lucky to live in a place where I can enjoy everything each season has to offer. I’m also a volunteer firefighter in my small town, which has around 800 year-round residents but sees over 1.2 million visitors annually. Even though we’re small, we are mighty!
I have a strong support system of family, friends, and my boyfriend, who encourage me every step of the way. With new followers and page likes coming in almost daily, I’m excited to continue growing my business and look forward to seeing my work featured in brochures, advertisements, and beyond.
Thank you so much for visiting my page! I’m truly grateful for your time and interest in my work. Whether you’re here to check out my photos, learn more about my journey, or just to browse, your support means the world to me. I hope you enjoy what you see, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to work together.
